Allowing myself evolution at the time it’s being

Allowing myself evolution at the time it’s being presented. I’m changing again. Change in my body, heart and soul is so constant.

Yet I sometimes try to fit myself back into boxes I’ve already exited from.

I’m feeling the textures of being called back within, to discover who I am now. Every time I feel this, I first get resistant. The fighter in me that struggled and used all my muscles to get to this current point starts digging in her heels.

The piece of me that likes fitting in and being able to perform at this time, in this way, starts getting anxious, because I know that these times demand I listen to a different beat than one which fits social norms.

And a part that is excited and aware that these times are always so valuable. That this is how I function in this world, that I require these moments.

That it’s actually a deep gift to be able to drop into being unsure…

It’s Wanderkind’s 9th birthday tomorrow, the 1st May.

9 years of sharing life Coaching, women's circles, Romiromi, Mirimiri, Ako Torowhānui & now counselling.

I am grateful for the opportunity to get to share our sacred practices in this time ♡ and for each & every person who has co-created with me over these years.

It's been a whirlwind of lots of discoveries, celebrations, learning, doing things I didn't know I was capable of, learning to trust the flow of life, and challenges...

I recorded a podcast with Jay @ngakau_creative for the @flourishinghealing.practice podcast & we spoke on “the challenges with stepping into sharing Māori Healing…”

Reflecting on the challenges has made me ponder.

Some challenges that come to mind that i’ve faced over the past 9-years include facing my fears of being seen, standing in my Mana and truth, learning how to speak about our practice in a way that honours it & me too, accepting my weaknesses ~ so I can share my strengths, trusting myself, and building my capacity to support myself.

Many of these you would have been some part of, I've aimed to be as transparent as possible across my journey, alongside you all.

I hope that this highlights that if your heart wants to share, whatever your circumstances… it's possible. We all have insecurities, challenges, joys and celebrations, ups, downs & everything in-between.

Just because we step into this space, it doesn’t mean we are suddenly the most confident beings in the world and immune to being human. Nor does it mean life will immediately flow.

Somehow I think the only thing certain is change.

To every single person who has woven with me, thank you for being a part of this journey x

A weekend away, ponderings.

Having space is Deliciousness.

Nothing to do but moving from sunny spot to sunny spot as the day heats up.

Then from shadow to shadow to keep cool, reading & processing.

Formatting my poetry book again ~ thanks Raranga Tipua Roopu for pulling this one through the heavens… ♡ I can smell Her arrival now.

I figured out a few formatting issues that were challenging me!

I've also been pondering my relationship between space & time. I've been trying to allow More being, less doing. More accepting of what my life is, less regret of the things that haven't eventuated.

More being present to the current moment. A release from any awareness that I need to be “on time…” for things.But I'm not really interested in keeping track of time. Or measuring anything, except out of curiosity.

Just feeling the call to be and create & honour life. Those who align are ok with who I am, there's no need to be any different.

So what does space mean for me? It means days where there is nothing in the diary. No requirements or expectations of me.

Just space to drop into my essence & explore there. No need to look at a clock. No need to prove anything, or live up to anyone else's standards. In Western life, or Māori life… Just to offer & gift what’s sustainable & possible for me & release the rest.

I enjoy sharing my gifts when it's easeful, without pedestals or hierarchy, or clinging.

Reflecting now… that's how I grew up. all space. Lots of land, play until we got called in. Being with & climbing the trees. No kangaroos then, but they bring so much joy whenever I see them now… even after being here for more than 15 years now!

The beautiful tuahine Hāweatea Bryson from @nature_knows, who featured in @flourishinghealing.practice ep.15 – turned the tables on me for an episode from the archives & asked me about my path and journey into Māori Healing.

At the time of recording, we were amidst the Black lives matter uprising and so we this episode addresses a lot ablit talking about weaving between the idea of growing up between 2 cultures and Māori healing.

I'm a little awol on socials lately ~ they are feeling like a little less of a draw!

Although I am still here offering wananga ~ workshops & sessions... & so grateful for all those who find their way into my heart space & heart offerings.

Sharing simply hasn't felt as inspiring lately.

Yet I'm always super grateful for all the support, care & reach outs I get!

P.s. How are you all feeling about socials? Do you feel like they have had their hey day?

How are you interacting with services these days?
Is it all making you feel overwhelmed like it is me? Like there are a few too many points of contact?

Dear Anger.

I shut you away when I was young, I saw the harm you caused expressed in the aura of others.
Potent, unthinking.
Desperate harmful unconsciousness.
I felt & still feel untethered when you're around.
Almost out of body.
Present & unpresent at once.
I still do when your presence arises in others.
Even if it's healthy.

Other's anger & shame... Weaves in my heart Misunderstood & internalised.

Dear anger, Despite all the Healing,
I still find you hard to express when you arise.
I'm still disgusted by your presence & the unhealthy modelling of your expression I took as your truth.
Lately I've been forced to be angry.

I realise, I never stopped being hyper-vigilent to your presence.
I'm still attuned to the emotions of others, although I don't always interpret it right.
Maybe I never did.
I always thought anger must be because of me...

Yet... Now, as anger comes seething out of my ovaries, I am just not too sure how to hold it.
The anger is true, but it's generations overdue.
So its a lot of Rage.

Absolute rage...

Rage for the things I believe/d about myself.
Rage for the places I've closed my heart in protection.
Rage for the relationships I've had (even though I'm grateful for them too...
Rage, because somewhere, somehow, the mess of anger became mazed within my self worth.
Rage that others can express their anger without giving a shit about how it impacts those around them.
I'm angry that when I shut down in the face of anger, I then get shamed for not speaking up at the time.
I'm angry for being misunderstood & I'm angry I've misunderstood others.

So now as all this rage lifts from my body.
I feel messy, I feel unkempt.
I feel untethered.

Anger is the emotion I am the least comfortable with, although I've come to realise it's been seething from my pores... Now I'm vowing to learn her...

I wonder ~ are there others who have had a similar journey? The interwebs are not resonating..
