Koha, what does it mean?

You will often see me using the word “Koha” as a part of my offerings

These include a number of practitioners and Ako Torowhānui trainees coming together in Perth, Western Australia to share Koha Healing Days and more recently, I’ve released some Koha Healing Sessions.

The word “koha” is a Māori word that means “gift” and for these sessions, you can pay-what-you-feel to allow anyone and everyone to have access to this healing work, regardless of their background.

The Māori Dictionary lists Koha as:

1. (noun) gift, present, offering, donation, contribution – especially one maintaining social relationships and has connotations of reciprocity.

Koha exchanges helps to raise the Mana ~ internal and external strength ~ of the giver and the receiver.  The exchange also provides strength to support more people in the community and on their journey.

The Māori meaning of Koha, is an offering of love and is similar to the Pali word Dana [daana]” which means: “Giving, liberality; offering, alms”.

In traditional practices, spiritual gifts, such as RomiRomi are considered priceless, and therefore, it is difficult to place an amount on the exchange. Therefore, the exchange is always undertaken from the heart.

While not all the services I offer are Koha sessions, it is woven into my business and service model that when in the best alignment for all, there will be Koha place available.

For those who are interested in Online Koha Sessions

These will last 60mins on Mondays & Tuesdays.
