Our whatumanawa ~ Our Healing Heart

As energetic beings our heart is the portal to many layers of our own knowledge of self and the work we do with others.
The heart holds the space in the middle of our energetic body system and is often one of the first energy portals (or chakras) that deepens once we begin to do shamanic or healing work.

There are a number of translations for whatumanawa and I have always translated the term as “the all-seeing heart” ~   More recently I have come across other translations of the whatumanawa as “the sacred heart” and the Ministry of Health in Aotearoa, New Zealand define it as “the open and healthy expression of emotion.”  I’ve also seen it translated as “emotions and senses.”

They all align for me and you can see how each of these definitions as complementary and contributes to the deepening of our heart.  In essence, the more integrated and knowledgable we are about our heart space, the deeper we drop into being able to feel, express and transmute emotions in a healthy manner.

Energetically the chambers of the heart form five key chambers (although there are more). We can be tapped into one or more of these chambers at any one time and as we expand our sense of the world and our own intuition, we begin to engage more consciously with the various chambers.  We draw on both for our own healing and when we do healing work with others.  With others it is helpful to know which chamber they are connecting with, and therefore, what energy they are pulling through to co-create with.

Each of these chambers are a portals through which we pursue integration throughout our lifetimes, lineages and gifts.
The main chambers are the Shaman, Collective consciousness, ancestral, MerkaBa and most importantly your own inner chamber.  The shaman portal is usually where much co-creative healing work takes place.

When I share body work with others, it usually begins in the shaman portal.  Our higher selves merge for the purpose of healing within this chamber.

In a personal meditative interaction we are able to merge with other shamanic wisdom within this chamber.  Other teachers or shamanic spirits may be seeking us out in this  portal to communicate with us, or see if we are ready for their presence.  We can be taught through wairua from masters who are here in the present and those who have passed on.

Always sense within your body if you feel aligned with the energies.  Stay open to receiving knowledge and wisdom in this way.

The ancestral portal ~ As Māori, the ancestral portal is very present for us and likely activated at a very young age.  We are not always taught how to use this portal and so many have fear of engagement with our tīpuna (and their demands).

Yet when we begin to gain our own unique strength in this space, we can call our ancestors into our lives to provide us with Mana and guidance.  It is important to realise that our ancestors are not all good (just look back into your known history).  Our ancestors also come to us to clear up their deeds in their lifetime, we often inherit their trials and tribulations or lessons that were not completed in their lifetimes as well.

When someone first awakens to their spiritual path, I often find that the ancestral lineage is the loudest.  Ancestors also journey along different paths ‘seeking’ someone who can hear their call (and they become excited when they find someone open to their messages).  This can become very overwhelming at first, especially as different lineages can have competing desires.  Before we can use this portal for solid guidance, it is important to heal key traumas or utu *which roughly translates as curses/or contracts that may be placed on your lineage.

Many of us who are here now are clearing old patterns in a number of lineages (family, earth, gender, career).

MerKaBa ~ The MerKaBa portal is our interdimensional travel vehicle and has a slightly different texture from the travel undertaken within the shaman portal.  There is often a “lightness” we associated with the lightbeings in this portal.

One is aware of the starseed DNA and upgrades available to us.  Some healers and lightworkers share predominantly from this space and are less connected with the earth (shaman portal).  When activated and deeply connected to the inner portal and the other portals, this chamber allows us to have a strong knowing of ourselves as greater than our physical body.

The collective consciousness portal ~ is the portal where the collective sum of all the world’s soul agreements are created and broken. Many people have contracts to work with this chamber and their own healing is offered to the collective.

Teachings like astrology come from this portal, where the lessons for the many are found and processed.  At certain times in our journey when we feel that the degree or force of our healing is larger than our lived experience, we can be merged with this chamber and processing for many.

It can help to ask the question “is this mine?” if you feel you are processing something on a deep level and if the emotion or attachment releases, you can rest in the knowing that it is external to you and you may be doing some work on behalf of our collective.

The inner chamber is the most important for us to know deeply.  It is our safe space, the space from which we nourish ourselves and know the strength of our being.  It holds the distinct energy of our own sovereignty.

For those who are visual, when they enter their heart space or meditative energy this chamber is uniquely our own. It is structured with our own unique energy and is usually first entered through an ancient door or portal.  People who find their way into this room often report a sense of familiarity or knowing that they have been here before.  This chamber is important to enter for respite and to check in with our own higher self without the influence of other energies or dimensions.  Within this space we are able to receive our own inner guidance and knowing.

As a healer I try not to enter this chamber when doing work with another as they must come into realisation with this texture for themselves without any entanglement from other beings.  It can also mix with my wairua and be disruptive to my own path.

You are able to open yourself to guidance and wisdom as you feel ready to do so in all of these chambers. These are entered through doors and activations through contact with others, or sense into which room you are ready to work with and begin to feel your way through your inner heart chambers.

We are much more expansive than we can every imagine.
